Who runs LLC Compass
LLC Compass is owned and written by Maksymilian “Max” Tuszewicki, an e-commerce entrepreneur based in Norway. When this site says “we”, that means Max; there is no separate editorial team. The site is operated through his company, MG Trade AS (Norwegian organization number 934 047 966), registered at Svelvikveien 116, 3039 Drammen, Norway.
Through MG Trade AS he runs a group of online stores, so company registration, annual filings, and tax deadlines are part of his own work as a business owner, not a legal specialty. LLC Compass started when he looked into how US LLCs are formed and kept in good standing and found the answers scattered across 50 state websites, each with its own forms, fees, and deadlines. Max is not an attorney or a CPA, and LLC Compass is not a law firm.
Why the site exists
LLC filing requirements are spread across dozens of Secretary of State and Department of Revenue websites, each with its own terminology, fee schedule, and deadlines. Missing an annual report or a franchise tax return can mean late penalties, loss of good standing, or administrative dissolution. We built LLC Compass to gather that information in one place, in plain English, with the fees and dates stated explicitly and the official source cited.

How our content is produced and checked
Every state guide is researched from primary sources: the relevant Secretary of State or Department of Revenue website, the official fee schedule, and, where a fee or deadline is set by law, the state LLC statute. After writing, we check each fee, deadline, and filing method against the official page before publishing. Each article shows its publication date, and when we recheck a state’s fees and deadlines we say so in the article.
State rules change, and we do not always catch a change on the day it happens. If you find something that is out of date or wrong, please let us know. Corrections are published with an updated date. The full process is described in our Editorial Policy.
